Nafisah is a fat idiot that does nothing but sleep til 2 in the afternoon, go on the computer, and draw all day til daybreak. But that's just on a good day. She just started college so her life is being taken up by that.

Nafisah created Salad Days and draws the lineart for it. She's also working on too many other comic ideas (probably around five), and she'll probably never finish.

1. Why is it called "Salad Days"?
- First of all, I got the name idea from my friend...second, when I looked it up, I found out it meant "a time of youthful innocence" and I thought it would be a great name for a high school story....and it's also hillariously ironic because of Ash's view on life XD; The motto, therefore, is based around the name, being "A time of youthful innocence....yeah right"..and that motto is pretty self explanitory of the story, which is a comedy/drama.
2. Where did you get the idea from?
- Originally I was working on another comic called "DemonKing", which was...insanely hard...and I failed XD;; So I thought I would do an easier one for now to get better at drawing comics and asked my friend for ideas....she suggested doing a story on a supernatural high school and I ended up going with it
3. Where do you get the ideas for the characters?
- Most of the characters are based off of my friends or people I know...sometimes even combining personalities. A lot of times, I will make completely new characters not based off of anything but their mythological lore. One big focus in my character designs is trying to find a way to incorporate modern fashion with old/common/accepted representations of the myth.
4. Who's the main character?
- Ashley Reinhardt, more commonly known as Ash. But while Ash is the main one, much of the story is about exploring the other characters. Sometimes leaving Ash and going to their point of view to get inside their head. In the grand scheme of things, though, the deviance from Ash is always to show a reasoning or motive behind why the character interacts with Ash in the way they do.
5. What will the story of Salad Days be about, anyway?
- Unlike what most of you probably think, SD is in no way a romance. (so no, Ash and Ren are NOT an item...or anyone else, really). SD focuses more on friendship/sibling/platonic relationships, usually delving very deep into each character and how they effect each other. It reflects the idea that relationships define a person....that without that friend or sibling or rival or teacher or whoever, you lose a part of yourself. For the most part, SD is a character-driven story, each chapter focusing on how two or more characters interact with each other. Very few of the story will focus around school events like a typical high school story (obviously it's not going to be devoid of said events, though) A lot of the story is surprisingly dark and angsty....exploring the drama of each personality, but it's always happy in the end in some way. But as a warning....be prepared for sad back stories xD;;
6. Is there going to be ANY romance in SD? o_O
- Not seriously...there will be crushes and stalkers, but all for the sake of comedy. As i said previously, the focus is more on friendships
7. Will there be any action?
- some...though mostly funny action....SD isn't really a school shonen.
8. I love the idea of SD! Can I make my own character?

- As much as I hate crack ships (or any ship), no I won't mind (I'll just cry and whine and make a huge fuss, but that's just a joke xD;; ) Anyway, a lot of the relationships in SD are subtext. Yes, I do it on purpose. If you choose to, practically any pair of characters could be interpreted as "liking each other" or even "being in love." It just won't be canon, since it goes against the theme of SD that I'm going for. JUST DON'T BUG ME ABOUT IT XD
10. Why aren't any of the main characters guys?
- While I do have a good few important male characters (Tony, Brandon, Drew, Art and Tim), they are essentially side characters. It's not that I'm a man-hater (lol), it's not that I'm bad at drawing them (quite the opposite, really), it's just it's easier for girls to share platonic relationships with people, even members of the opposite sex. It just fits the idea more. I also need to practice drawing girls >__>;;
11. You know there's an official manga called Salad Days, right?
- Yes, yes I know XD;; there's also another online comic called by the same name, but in my opinion, since the title is an actual term, it's fine. The only problem will be trying to differentiate between the...three .__.;;
12. You have so many side characters...how're you going to incorporate them all? @__@;;
- Heh...I know I do. I'm trying to simulate the feeling of a real school. There are so many people with so many stories to tell in a school, I think I could make infinite characters xD;; The problem is, I know a lot of you have grown to love these side characters, and I apologize. Not all of them will get their own stories in Salad Days. However! If you like them enough, and I approve, then I certainly will allow you to take my existing side characters for your own branch of the ~WormWoodProject
13. REN'S A GIRL?!? WHY??
- .....yes......cause if she's a girl, people tend to think it's NOT a romance...and yes I know a lot of parts could work as a romance (especially if Ren were a guy), but as I said before, that's not the point.
14. When can I expect to see my OC in your comic? 8D
- Uhmmm.....sorry. Not all the OCs will make it to my comic...not even a lot of my OWN side characters will make it =A=;; the OCs pretty much exist for the WormWood Project only, sorry. >__O;; i MAY cameo some characters...but past that, dont pressure me, please DX;;;

- You're....kidding right? I'm conceited...of course I love fanart xDDD

- Naw, there's nothing physically wrong with it. Ren is a weird girl with weird habits...so it's a bit of an OCD habit of hers since she's so shy. It's like a security blanket of sorts--if you haven't noticed, she covers it when she's nervous or bashful....which is often xD. Ren is weird, but you all love her, probably |D
17. Are you planning to publish Salad Days?
- I....dunno o.o;; Truthfully, I had given up on publishing the comic for a while...but now that everyone is suggesting it, I'm thinking about it again. Maybe the next time TokyoPop's Rising Stars contest comes around, I'll try to submit mine to theirs and see what happens...meanwhile, though, it'll just be for you guys X)
18. I don't get the joke Ren tells in Page 15? DD:
- Ah....haha..xD;; Ren asks Ash "How do you get a baby out of a blender...with a straw"...it bascially means that you've blended the baby to drink it...like a smoothie. I'm sick and I like dead baby jokes...you can all pelt me now.
19. So...Ash doesn't know what she looks like?
- Yep. Vampires don't show up in mirrors because of the silver used in them. So that means photos are out too. There is always painting a portrait and perhaps...digital photography though >w> (oh, and PLEASE don't get technical with me, here, it's mainly for laughs, understand...and it's about VAMPIRES...goodness, there's no science to them >_>; )
